| Indian River
Christian School is a member of the
Association of Christian Schools International.
Each year all students take a standardized achievement test which not only gauges a student's achievements but also allows for comparison with similar students across the nation. On an average, students at Indian River Christian School test higher than students at the national level. Our curriculum is periodically evaluated by faculty and administration to ensure that quality education is maintained. Through our curriculum, students are not only challenged academically, but they are given a Biblical view of life and the world we live in. This is at the core of what we teach. The curriculum includes A Beka and Bob Jones University Press. We stress a phonics reading program and endeavor to develop critical thinking skills in all subject areas. All traditional studies such as math, reading, spelling, language arts, science, and social studies are taught in the classrooms. Students also have the privilege to study the Bible in their classrooms. Extra-curricular courses include art, journalism, library, music, physical education, study hall, and typing are also taught at different grade levels. The faculty combines creative teaching with loving concern for each student in disciplined classes to achieve maximum student learning. |

| Bible classes are taught
daily, with Chapel held twice per month. These chapels are coordinated
with a variety of speakers and activities. With many different churches
represented, the focus of the Bible curriculum is the Bible, rather that
doctrinal or denominational issues. Our goal is to instruct students in
the Word of God and to help them apply it to their lives.
Each week, the Administrator and Faculty meet for morning devotions and prayer. Classes also include prayer. Throughout all subject areas, students are encouraged toward the practical application of their faith in their relationships at home, with friends, and in outreach. |

| We believe God uses authority to build character and form the self-discipline necessary for success. At IRCS, guidelines are clearly presented with consequences identified for both good and improper behavior. As students respond properly to a teacher’s discipline, they become more self-disciplined. Our Parent-Student Handbook lists all the expectations of the School. | |
