I don't know about you, but I love new things. It can be something new in the physical, like a new kitchen appliance guaranteed to simplify my life. Or it could be a new friend or new hobby to try.
God love news things, too. Just look at creation. But even after creating the universe and everything in it, He didn't stop. He continues every second of every day to knit together in the womb every person living on this planet. And none of us are the same. Each and every one of us is special and unique.
But do our lives reflect how special each of us are?
Some of my most treasured memories are raising our children and discipling other women in our home. But I've also made mistakes and wrong choices. Some people grew up in the church and learned early about the gift He sent in His Son. For others, we muddled through life, making mistakes, gathering "dirt."
2 Corinthians 5:17 promises us that, "If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see everything has become new!"
Don't you just love that?!
We are a "new creation." We have been reborn. We are fresh and new in Him.
Have you ever seen a birth? It's amazing. Here's an infant with his or her entire life ahead. Opportunities abound. Parents have big dreams and there's no limit to what this child can become or accomplish.
That's the same thing He does with us when we accept Jesus as our savior. We are new again, and this time we have Him at our side. He picks us up and wipes off the dirt when we fall, but as we walk with Him, we hear His voice more clearly, telling us which path to go and which roads to avoid.
If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your personal savior, you can now. If you have, have you fully grasped that you are a new creation in Him? I didn’t until several years after going to the altar. You can believe it now. You’ve been given an amazing gift and your future is filled with limitless possibilities!
